"The future belongs to those who prepare for it today."
-Malcolm X-

Malcolm X, a militant black leader, was one of America"s most powerful voices at the center of the black civil movement with Martin Luther King Jr., in the 1950"s. He had enormous influence on black youth and in progressive intellectual circles. He established his Organization of Afro-American Unity. His efforts in the darkest times brought higher status and hope for a brighter future to the black people. For the future to be like what we want it to be, we had better prepare for them today, not later.

"All things must change to something new, to something strange."
-Henry W. Longfellow-

Henry W. Longfellow was a true scholar, a devoted teacher and, as a poet, something of a pioneer. He contributed to the wide spread of European folk songs in America. Henry Longfellow transmitted European culture to his countrymen, popularized native American themes, and helped establish a national literature. In this passage, we can sense his endless pioneering spirit. Nothing ever stays the same, and we have to take part in those challenging changes rather than just to follow them.
