However, it is not easy to find one that perfectly suits your preference in terms of location, ambience, and menu. Starbucks, ECC

Located on the fourth floor of Ewha Campus Complex (ECC), Starbucks’ greatest merit is that it offers an extremely convenient coffee spot that is within walking distance of classes held at ECC. Though its menu and taste are like any other Starbucks, the café’s cozy interior and breathtaking view of ECC’s pond with its metal reflectors make it a popular spot to both students and tourists. Be aware that the café is usually crowded during the school semester, especially around lunch period.

 

Bluepot, Helen Hall

A coffee shop surrounded by trees, Bluepot is located on the first floor of Helen Hall. The menu provides not only coffee but savory delights as well such as pizza and fried chicken with the price range from 9,500 to 14,000 won. During the summer, you can relax at the outdoor picnic benches arranged in between trees, providing natural shade and cooling breezes.

 

CAFE ING, International Education Building

CAFE ING, a café chain for universities, provides all beverages in upgraded “Venti” sizes at the affordable price point of less than 5,000 won. Its signature menu is its housemade Levain cookies with thick crusts and a chewy texture. As a two-story café, it is spacious with different types of seating arrangements from comfy armchairs to workable areas with desks. If you wish for a fast order, you can use the application, Secret Order, where you can select your menu in advance, and have it made before you arrive.

Tired of paying extensive prices just for a cup of coffee? For those searching for an affordable café to study, this might be the exact spot you had been looking for. Catch Cafe is a study café brand developed by Jinhak, a firm that specializes in college admission, to provide a sustainable workspace for university students and job seekers. There are a total of five Catch Cafes and one of them is located at Sinchon, on the fifth floor of the Vertigo building. The café is free of charge and even offers a free cup of beverage every day varying from latte and green tea to special seasonal menus. To use the café, all you have to do is sign up through its application and present your QR code to the barista. Other than coffee services, the café also supplies study sessions and employment themed mentoring programs that you can sign up for at its official homepage.

Wonderland is the perfect keyword to describe this café. As its name implies, Alice Cafe bases its concept on the classic novel “Alice in Wonderland.” From utensils to paintings on the wall, every inch of the interior is designed with a fairy tale theme and dreamy vibes. Just a minute walk away from campus, it is a recommended location to study as it has electrical outlets at every table and computers you can use for academic purposes. Adding on, the café is stacked with entertaining board games and books which you can enjoy during your free time. You should try out the café’s milk tea and desserts including canelé, a traditional French dessert, along with cupcakes as they are delicious yet quite affordable.

 

Cafe Pera Unique

Right beside the Main Gate, Cafe Pera Unique is one of the older cafés around Ewha. A three-story building near the school is dedicated solely to this café. And as a result, the café is majestic with unique features for each story. Upon entrance, you will be greeted by antique furniture blended with a modern interior, just like a European café. The next floor is suited for students who wish to study as it has a calm atmosphere and wide seating arrangements. The highlight of this café is the top floor which has a terrace, presenting an impressive overview of Ewha’s campus that is especially breathtaking at night. There are enough tables to make group appointments and engage in conversations while admiring the view. The café is also well known for its signature desserts such as strawberry tart for 7,500 won and the crêpe cake for 6,700 won
