Ewha Asian Center for Women’s Studies holds lecture on Asian Americans in an Anti-Black World

The 7th ‘Race and Gender’ special lecture hosted by Ewha Womans University’s Asian Center for Women’s Studies was held via Zoom on Feb. 16. The lecture was titled ‘Asian Americans in an Anti-Black World,’ and was presented by Claire Jean Kim, who is a professor of Political Science and Asian American Studies in the University of California, Irvine. Kim traced the history of the use of ‘Asian American’ as a weapon in the United States to silence the African-American Civil Rights Movement.
