Ewha Voice is indeed doing an impressive job stretching out into different fields and providing diverse information in English. I am sure that searching, writing and publishing articles every month is not an easy task. But how Ewha Voice handles the workload is amazing and I value their work with great excellence. I have to say that I have always enjoyed reading the Ewha Voice for many reasons, including the fact that it is an English newspaper, also the fact that it is interesting and so on. The "Theme" section has caught my attention many times, making me a great fan.
Other than their great work, Ewha Voice seem to lack on its "True Ewha Voice." This is because there is not much participation of Ewha students. One concern I see it is because Ewha Voice is not meeting the demands of the readers. I find a small percentage of Ewha students reading Ewha Voice and the reason for that is mainly because of the superior level of language. Ewha Voice needs to be clear on who their readers are, whether they are Ewha students as a whole or only particular group of students. If the target is on the Ewha students as a whole, Ewha Voice should either lower the language level or make transcripts for main articles or others. Targeting their specific readers will increase the efficiency and create loyal readers that lead to enhancing participation.
In addition to being clear on who their main readers are, Ewha Voice needs to grab more attention. Maybe the layout of Ewha Voice can be different from now. I find that the layout of the newspaper is very much similar to many other formal newspapers. This is important as a newspaper itself but I feel that it can be more creative. The format or the style of the newspaper can be changed, making it very distinguishable compared to other newspapers. Grabbing more attention will lead to more participation and as a result, the true voice of Ewha can be more effectively presented.
