In physical distress? How about dashing to the Ewha Health Service Center, located on the B1 floor of the Alumnae Center, which offers a variety of free health services for students and faculty. School affiliated hospitals are also another cost efficient solution.
All students who attend Ewha and have paid student insurance are welcome to receive simple checkups, free of charge, at the Health Service Center? Treatment Room. Submit your student ID card at the counter to receive treatment. If you need medication, the Health Center Pharmacy provides both prescribed and non-prescribed medication. Working hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and are extended to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays during school semesters.
For toothaches, visit the Dental Clinic, which provides a variety of services from regular checkups, and scaling to treating cavities. Working hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and students may consult an orthodontist every other Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Students are required to make an appointment before visiting, and must pay extra for dental care. However, costs are low compared to non university-affiliated dental clinics.
The Health Management Room offers Hepatitis B checkups and influenza vaccinations also at low prices. Vaccinations are given only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The room also offers weight control services on Thursdays and Fridays during regular working hours, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students may also receive checkups for chronic diseases.
The Health Education Room offers a series of counseling sessions, which can be arranged by appointments. The first and third weeks of each month deal with skin care, and the fourth week focuses on gynecology, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Online counseling is also available at any time. For details, please visit the Ewha portal site. (Intranet ▶ Other ▶Online Medical Counseling).
Across the hall from the Pharmacy is the Clinic for the Near-sighted, where students may receive free lens prescriptions, and purchase eyewear at discounted prices. Working hours start at 9:05 a.m. and end at 7: 30 p.m. during weekdays, and at 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
Finally, students who need treatment beyond these services may benefit from visiting Ewha? affiliated hospitals, Dongdaemun Hospital ((02) 760-5114), and Mokdong Hospital ((02) 2650-5114), where students can receive a 10 percent discount,  excluding dental care.
