Dressed in formal clothes, the newcomers at Ewha gather around in the old Student Union Building for tea and snacks during the freshmen orientation back in March, 1969.
Even though the atmosphere is rigid and tense, one could point out the unification that is among the students, for they are sitting in a circle, facing each other.

Nearly four decades later, in 2005, students from the Division of Pharmacy sit in the students cafeteria inside the Alumnae Building, gathered around to have lunch.
Compared to the 1960s, the students are in more casual outfits. Moreover, students now get to sit at tables in smaller groups and choose from three to four dishes of their own preference.
