University-Industry Collaboration Foundation (EUICF) held the donation ceremony between Ewha Brain Institute (EBI) and Green Cross Reference Lab (GCLabs) on April 8.

The two institutes signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) under the analysis of human biological material last year.

The GCLabs will place approximately a billion won under the research fund for the EBI’s research project of analyzing human biological material.

The research subjects of the analysis of human biological material include DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), serum, blood plasma and saliva.

EBI is working to develop a new field of research by connecting the analysis information of the subjects with brain science, the next new paradigm of the 21st century.

With the basis of the EUICF’s donation, EBI will continue with its research in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and Methamphetamine abuse related to the analysis of human biological material and development of the brain.

EBI is equipped with the most advanced personal clinical MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) equipment, enabling the institute to integrate a wide range of field and open a new prospect in creative brain science.

EBI and GCLabs have agreed to share database of biological specimens, brain images and genes.

They have been collaborating to understand and make progress for the development of diseases in the precedent of innovation.
