Starting November, the Ewha Welcome Center will provide “Architecture Tour” for visitors.
Architecture Tour is a newly themed tour with the purpose of allowing visitors to enjoy campus buildings. As the name suggests, the tour will place more emphasis on architectural meanings of each school building and offer historic relevance and stories behind these buildings.
“The purpose of this new tour programs is to promote Ewha buildings to visitors who are interested in architecture,” said an official of Communications. “Also, as there are many school events in November, we thought visitors could enjoy the events along with the tour.”
The Ewha Welcome Center has been running a regular tour course called “Welcome Tour” since September.
Welcome Tour is an hour-long program that starts from the Ewha Welcome Center and continues through the Welch-Ryang Auditorium, Main Hall and ends at the Ewha Campus Complex. The tour, which does not require prior reservations, operates in a first-come-frist-served basis. It is led by a group called “Welcome Tour Leader” which comprises seven to 10 students from Ewha Campus Leader. The tour takes place at 2 p.m. during weekdays, and it is available to anyone who visits the Ewha Welcome Center.
Welcome Tour also runs an additional English tour every Thursday, and a Chinese tour every Friday for foreign visitors.
The Ewha Welcome Center is also planning to organize a “History Tour” next May. History Tour will focus on Ewha’s history, from how Ewha was founded to how it has developed throughout the years. The course will walk visitors through the Ewha Welcome Center, Main Hall, Ewha Archives, Jinseonmi-gwan and Welch-Ryang Auditorium.
Other than the prospective theme tours that the Ewha Welcome Center is planning, the Office of Communications says it will focus on managing the EWC and Welcome Tour.
“Our primary goal is to stabilize Ewha Welcome Center and Welcome Tour,” the official said. “As the Ewha Welcome Center is Korea’s first welcome center established in a university, our goal is to familiarize the welcome center to campus visitors.”
