Ewha Creative Academy (ECA) will hold the 2013 Ewha MICE Job Fair under the slogan of “Throw the DICE towards the MICE” at the Lee San-Bong Hall in the Ewha Campus Complex on May 7 for the first time.
The job fair is specially organized and managed by the ECA students to inform students of the MICE (Meeting Incentives Convention Exhibition) industry. The targetted participants are all undergraduate and graduate students.
The MICE industry refers to a convention in a narrow sense and also indicates those industries that are related to international exhibitions and international conferences in the broader sense. Recently, Korea has shown a remarkable growth in the field of MICE after successfully hosting several global conferences such as the G20 Seoul Summit and the Nuclear Security Summit.
The ECA, founded in the fall semester of 2012, has provided various education programs to nurture future specialists in the field of MICE. Students enrolled in the ECA have been preparing for this job fair.
“The MICE industry is currently not well-known to students,” said Lee Ha-yeon (International Office Administration, 2), who is in charge of planning the job fair. “Since job fairs usually remain on the level of only delivering information, we have been organizing to promote the MICE industry and at the same time induce participants’ active participation through various programs such as lectures and games.”
The 2013 Ewha MICE Job Fair consists of three events: lecture, exhibition and party. The lecture will be focused on delivering the overall information about the MICE industry and drawing students’ attention to lectures. Participants will have a chance to test their potential and competence and receive information on employment in the MICE industry through one-on-one mentoring sessions held during the exhibition. In the party event, students will have dinner and a recreation time for networking with workers in the MICE industry.
“We hope this job fair can be a meaningful time for students to become interested in the MICE field and receive help by actively participating in the events,” said Kim Kang-hee (International Office Administration, 4), one of the students planning the job fair.
Students who wish to participate must sign up online (http:// ewhamicejobfair.com/) for each event and will be registered on a first-come, first-serve basis until April 26. For further information, visit the homepage or call (02) 3277-4009.
