Ewha was selected as the education institution for second-level Arts & Culture Education Instructor on Feb. 1.
With this accomplishment, Ewha will newly establish the School of Arts & Culture Education and operate the curriculum starting from March.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), the Arts & Culture Education Instructor is a new national license, which was established following the revised Arts and Culture Education Support Act. The MCST received applications from education institutions in November 2012. After several document and field evaluation processes, Ewha was selected to implement the curriculum in music, Korean music, arts, design, crafts and dance.
The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service is the sole institution that can provide education for the first-level Arts and Culture Education instructor.
A total of 13 universities nationwide were designated as the second-level education institution and two universities, Ewha and Chung-Ang University, were selected in the Seoul region.
