Ewha announced to further reduce undergraduate school tuition by 1.5 percent for 2013 on Jan. 23.
The decision earned the consent of all members including six Ewha officials and four student representatives present at the 5th Tuition Review Committee meeting held on Jan. 23.
The decision was reached as a means to relieve students’ and their partents’ financial burden in today’s economically pressing time.
Ewha had stabilized its tuition for three years since 2009, reduced the tuition by 3.5 percent in 2012, and further by 1.5 percent this year. This reduction in tuition allows students to pay 8.3 million won, approximately more than 1 million won less amount compared to last year’s tuition of 8.5 million won.
“The school’s efforts to educate and research to further improve will continue regardless of the tuition reduction,” said an Ewha official who wishes to stay anonymous.
