The University of Mannheim is known for its distinct profile, business orientation, and its international approach. Various rankings, awards, and evaluations indicate the quality of its research and teaching. Three schools within the university have received top ratings in national rank over the past years: Business school, Department of Economics and Faculty of Social Sciences.
Currently there are about 10,000 students enrolled, and every semester more than 600 exchange students come from all over the world. Exchange students can choose from a wide range of courses and have the opportunity to attend courses in both English or German. For those who are interested in learning the German language, the university offers a variety of language courses at different levels. Mannheim is one of the few universities in Germany that reorganizes its semester dates according to international standards to meet the needs of its international exchange program.

The campus is located in the middle of the Mannheim City where the core was the recently renovated as Mannheim Palace, one of Europe’s largest baroque castles. This extraordinary environment provides students with a unique studying atmosphere. The region of Mannheim also offers a wide range of events, vibrant cultural life and a lot of possibilities for spending leisure time. For those who love nature, the banks of the Rhine and Neckar are close to the university and make an ideal spot to relax or have a barbecue party with friends.
Furthermore, the location of Mannheim is in the centre of Europe. Thus, it is a convenient starting point for travels to those of other European countries. The Inter City Express high-speed train station is located on the edge of the campus and takes passengers to Frankfurt airport in half an hour.
