A party of 23 Swedish educational leaders of science and engineering visited Ewha to enhance cooperative relationship on Nov. 9.
The delagates toured the campus after visiting laboratories in the Science Building A, B,  C, and D.
Ewha President Kim Sun-uk organized a luncheon at the Ewha Campus Complex after the tour. During the luncehon, Bjorn O. Nilsson, the director of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering (IVA), Andreas Gothenberg, the chairman of the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT), and seven presidents from Sweden universities discussed extending collaborative research, education, and related topics of developing cooperation between the two countries.
“Relationships with Sweden universities were newly formed and enhanced through this visit,” said professor Eunice Kim (Law School), the vice president of the Office of Global Affairs. “Ewha fully prepared for this event and fortunately it helped creating a positive image. The Sweden’s side first suggested on strengthening relationships and we expect this would lead to more exchange programs for students and professors, along with research collaboration.”
The visit was a part of the touring Korean universities specialized in science and engineering such as Seoul National University, KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) after their arrival in Korea on Nov. 6.
The visit was in support of the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), STINT and IVA.The NRF and STINT have been cooperating together in over 30 researches since their first collaboration in 2008.
