▲ Ewha holds “Dialogue with the World’s Leaders” on Nov. 18 under the theme of “Visions for a Unified Korea.”
Dialogue with the World’s Leaders took place at Ewha on Nov. 18 at the Kim Young-ui Hall in the Music Building. The dialogue which is co-hosted by Ewha and the Ministry of Unification, is an event for the 2011 Korea Vision Forum to suggest a vision for unified Korea.
Three guest speakers participated:  Lothar de Maizière, the former prime minister of the German Democratic Republic, Jörg Schöbohm, the former state secretary of the Federal Ministry of Defense of Germany and Lee Hong-gu, the former prime minister of the Republic of Korea. Ewha President Kim Sun-uk also participated in the dialogue as a moderator.
The dialogue had two sessions including speeches under the theme of “Visions for a Unified Korea” and discussion with Q&A session. “Dialogue with the World’s Leaders” provided chances to discuss how to apply Germany’s unification model to unification of the Korean peninsula.
Besides the lectures and speeches, the dialogue also provides an opportunity for the selected students who wrote two–page essay on the dialogue to visit the site of the German unification. Total five students would be notified individually through the evaluation of the Secretariat of Korea-Germany Joint Consultation Committee on National Unification.
