To celebrate the 125th anniversary of Ewha, the Office of University Relations and Development (OURD) plans to hold a special event called Ewha Spirit Day: Serving & Sharing on May 19.
The event will be held under the school’s Serving and Sharing Project and every student can participate through the flea market for Sunbae Ramen and the market for Ewha Eco Shop.
Flea Market for Sunbae Ramen celebrates the first beneficiary of the Sunbae Ramen scholarship and the accomplishment of total sum of 1.1 billion won for scholarship. The occasion will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on May 19 at the open space of the Human Ecology Building.
Selling refreshments, donations and a special corner allowing new contraction for Sunbae Ramen are planned to be carried out. Also there will be a silent auction bidding for donations from renowned Ewha Alumnae.
Ewha Eco Shop also opens at 11:00 a.m. on May 19 at room 233 of the Alumnae Building. The market aims to establish a sharing culture in Ewha by encouraging students to exchange and buy donatives. The frst products of the market will be the remnants from Flea Market for Sunbae Ramen and donations are continually available from this day.
Although not a fixed plan, the profits made from the event may be used in scholarship and other social businesses both inside and outside Ewha.
“Since it is hard to assume the prospective income, we don’t have concrete plans yet,” said Kang Hye-song from OURD. “But we hope that the Sharing Market becomes the best place among Ewha students so that the motto
Non Nobis Solum spreads in Ewha.”
Students who are interested in participating can join the event by either buying or donating goods such as clothes, books, and accessories. Participating as a volunteer worker is also a choice.

Donors can send their goods by delivering them through mails, visiting the office of OURD, or putting them into a designated trays around campus.
The costs for delivery that includes more than five donatives will be paid by the school. For further information regarding this event, visit the OURD Web site (http://ewha21.ewhaian.net/) or call (02) 3277-2927.
