News reports in January said 2007 would be the world’s hottest year on record due to global warming and the El Niño effect. Now, the it is not yet summer, yellow dust is already blowing once again from the Mongolian desert, making us choke and harming our lungs. We have been treating environmental issues as something apart from our daily lives, but now the situation is grave enough to make us look more carefully, or even take action. If you want to be more environmentally alert, many student clubs in Ewha give guidelines for becoming eco-friendly. Also there are some majors at Ewha studying how to improve people’s lives while also considering the whole ecosystem.
