Korean Women’s Institute (KWI) held Social Studies in the Age of Division, Opening a New Way of Our Theory, a symposium broadcasted via YouTube on Feb. 18. The symposium commemorated professor emeritus Lee Hyo-jae. Lee was a renowned scholar in sociology and women’s studies who bravely fought for women’s rights in Korea yet passed away in October 2020. The symposium also celebrated the republication of Lee’s work “Social Studies in the Age of Division.” The conference consisted of four programs: opening ceremony, presentation, debate, and floor discussion with closing.
