Ewha’s 16th presidential election period has now begun. As of May 2, eight candidates have come forward with their written oaths and election pledges. Based on each candidate’s self-introduction and pledges Ewha Voice received from the Election Commission, we have independantly selected and translated pledges that regard undergraduate students to publish on this issue. 1. Brand Management: Strengthening brand management through internal introspection and recreation of Ewha’s image 
- Strengthening of internal and external communication and publicity of Ewha’s new image through budget increase 
- Expanding infrastructure and systems for the strengthening of capability of research, education, and administration 
- Devising measures for student welfare and safety 
2. Finance Management: Achieving external development through strengthening of finance management 
- Creating “Ewha health care technology cluster” including College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Natural Sciences, and so on, and excavating business through national and global networking, thereby becoming the leading university in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

1. “University where everyone is respected” (communication) 
- Establishing and invigorating an organization where every representative group of Ewha can confer and communicate with each other
- Encouraging a bottom-up, rational decision making method

- Establishing an education system for nurturing talent with creative thinking and empathic ability
- Reinforcing creativity-enhancing lecture methods such as in-class discussions and practical training
- Establishing new need-based scholarships to aid students with financial difficulties

- Achieving a better governance by establishing a survey system of all Ewha members’ opinions

- Establishing Education Reform Policy Institute for innovatively improving the quality of Ewha’s lectures
3. Establishing career sustainment-community center corresponding to each college’s characteristics

1. Democratic decision making and communication despite the slow process
- Implementation of democratic decision making system through direct online voting, after thoroughly reviewing major policies and projects
2. Construct the basis for nurturing major talent required by the Fourth Industrial society through linking Ewha’s outstanding research capacity to education
- Actively push forward self-designing education and convergence education, especially by implementing a Pass/Fail evaluation system when taking non-major courses out of major
3. Become the most reliable sponsor helping each and every student unfold their valuable dreams
- Strengthen mentoring for freshmen and develop and introduce artificial intelligence that helps school affairs support

 

“Establishing Happiness At C-ollective Ewha”

1. Change from centralized to autonomic decentralized system
- Concentrate on securing various organization, systems, and necessary resources for successful operation and enable each unit organizations (major/department, college, etc.) to exert autonomous power and responsibility based on their mission and role
2. Change from austere financial base to active profiting financial base
- Strengthen competence of external fund-raising, expand active income creation base, and secure sustainability
3. Support of education environment for nurturing future talent
- innovate relative evaluation, strengthen study-employment-business opening capabilities, create Ewha Valley, expand scholarship benefits, etc.
