Starting from this semester, two nearby shuttle bus stations will be operated as one, along with shortened interval from 15 to 10 minutes.
First, bus stops that were close to each other will be operated as one bus stop. The shuttle bus will only stop once between the Hellen Hall and Arts & Design Building. Before the change, the shuttle bus used to stop twice at each bus stop, both at Hellen Hall and Arts & Design Building.
Also, shuttle bus intervals have been shortened. Shuttle buses will come every 10 minutes, meaning that the buses would operate two more times in an hour. Before the change, shuttle buses operated every 15 minutes.
Thechanges have been made as increased number of students using shuttle bus users is expected. As the new dormitory, E-house, can accommodate more than 2,000 students, more or bigger shuttle buses are needed. However, the new system is not just for dormitory residents but also the students who are in need of quick means of transport can use the frequently operated shuttle buses. There has been constant needs for change in the shuttle bus system.
“This semester, I have consecutive classes at the Ewha-Shinsegae Building, and Law Building,” said a freshman Ewha student majoring in International Studies. “I have to move between the two far buildings within the 15-minute break. Once, I tried to go from one building to the other on foot but I couldn’t make it that far on time. The changes will enable to get to the Law Building by a shuttle bus that comes more frequently, which is a good news.”
