The famous chimpanzee researcher, Dr. Jane Goodall gave a special lecture titled "The Reason For Hope" on Nov. 10. Goodall outlined 46 years of her life with the chimpanzees, discussed current environmental problems, and promoted her environmental campaign, Roots and Shoots.
She awoke awareness of problems on poaching, pollution, and deforestation going on in Africa and other parts of the world.
In her lecture, Goodall mentioned four reasons for hope. They are the existence of program solving technology; nature? regeneration power; and energy, determination, and courage of the young generation. The fourth reason is the human spirit: the will to not give up.
"Things may go wrong in your life, but you should never give up and always keep trying. Then, you'll see your way out," said Goodall.
