The 24th Korean Speech Contest for Foreigners was held at Room 103 in the Ewha-Samsung Education Culture Building on Oct. 6. A total of 10 students from nine different countries participated and demonstrated their Korean skills. The themes of this year’s contest were “My Dream, My Challenge,” “My own way to enjoy Korea,” and “The Beauty of Korea.” Most participants gave speeches for about five minutes on their lives in Korea or how they felt when learning Korean. In this contest, Jennifer Lee Bitschene, a German exchange student, won the first prize.
