The International Math Union (IMU) hosted the International Congress of Women Mathematicians 2014 (ICWM 2014) at the ECC Lee San-Bong Hall on Aug. 12. The meeting was held to showcase the mathematical contributions of women and facilitate exchange among female mathematicians from around the world. Approximately 500 female mathematicians from 50 countries participated in the congress, which was composed of a poster session displaying the latest research of selected attendees, five lectures of world-renowned mathematicians, the ICWM-Forum and Workshop. The ICWM-Forum and Workshop were each held under the title of ‘Mathematics and Women: Different Regions, Similar Struggles’ and ‘Geometric Constructions of Mosaic Designs.
