Chapter 2 Article 7 of the Election Law­?oting rights belong to national citizens 20 or more years of age.

February 4, 2004­Members of 12 Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), including the University Students Movement for Political Reform, Univoters, UNIP, and People? Solidarity for Participatory Democracy (PSPD), held a press conference claiming voting rights for college students who are 19 years of age; in front of the Grand National Party (GNP) building in Yeouido.

Minimum age limit for voting rights in other countries:
France 18 years
Germany 18 years
United States 18 years

- 77 countries regulate the minimum age limit for voting rights to 18 years of age
- 20 countries regulate the minimum age limit for voting rights to 20 years and older, including developing and conservative countries
-10 countries regulate the minimum age limit for voting rights to 17 years and younger.
