This program, sponsored by Ewha, and the feminist journal "IF", and the Korean Women"s Association, is designed to emphasize the importance of peace around the world and how women can play an active role in initiating peace.
Thich will also include in his messages regarding opposition against the current war in Iraq, and discuss the religious aspects of peace, and ways to make peace prevail.
Visiting Ewha was not initially scheduled during his current visit to Korea but this special lecture was the help of former Ewha Professor Chung Hyun-kyung from the Union Theological seminary.
The public is wel-come to attend this lecture, but all attendees are asked to wear or carry something pink, to symbolize peace.
